April 17-22, 2018

On April 17-22, 2018, Beverley Street Studio School is hosting it’’s second Queen City Plein Air Festival and third annual Quick Draw event in downtown Staunton.

This year the Festival has grown in participation and length. Professional plein air (French for “in the open air”) painters from the Mid-Atlantic region will be staying in Staunton for five days of painting, demonstrations, shows, sales, and artistic expression. These artists will be painting the unique historic architecture of downtown Staunton, beautiful established gardens of homes open during the Historic Garden Week Tour in Middlebrook, the rolling landscape of Augusta County and more!

Friday, April 20 is the third annual Paint Staunton Quick Draw Art Competition and Fresh Paint Show & Sale, a family friendly community art event.

The Festival culminates Saturday evening with a Wet Paint Gallery Sale in the BSSS Gallery after the conclusion of the Garden Club Tour. Other Festival events include artist demonstrations, preview parties, and a workshop by event juror and nationally acclaimed plein air painter, Nancy Tankersley.
